Botanical Disinfecting Fogger FAQ's

Disinfectant foggers work by spraying a fine mist of disinfectant all around the space.  This mist is similar to a very light fog.  Because of the size of the particles, this mist can get into spaces that may not be reached with regular cleaning.  It is also fast and more thorough.  Many companies that offer a disinfecting fogger service limit themselves to using only harsh chemicals.  However, at A Touch Above Cleaning, we are resolved to use only non-toxic, botanical disinfectants when fogging.  Botanical disinfectants are substances derived from plants that kill germs using essential oils. They are considered a safer alternative to synthetic cleaners that often contain harsh chemicals like chlorine, bleach, and phosphates. Because we only use non-toxic, botanical disinfectants when fogging, there are no concerns or worries about the effects of harsh chemicals. Similar to the harsh chemicals often used, our disinfectants are on the EPA's List N.  This means they are approved for use against the coronavirus and also work against a wide range of other germs like bacteria and fungi.  Unlike harsh chemicals, our botanical disinfectants are safer for you, your kids, your family, your pets, your clients, or your patients.  They are also better for the environment.

Below are a few questions that some have asked about our botanical disinfecting fogger service.  Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.

How often should I have my place fogged?

This depends on the size of your space, the amount of foot traffic, or the last time someone has been sick there.  Regarding your home, we recommend it be disinfected at least once a month.  Many have decided to have their homes disinfected twice a month.  If someone has been recently sick, it is a good idea to have your home disinfected by fogging to kill any germs or viruses that may still be present.

Regarding your places of business, depending on the foot traffic and if it is currently cleaned by professional cleaners or your office workers, it may be sufficient to fog your business once every two weeks.  If no one is cleaning your facility, and if your budget allows, it may be advantageous to utilize disinfecting fogging weekly or even more.  We can schedule a walk-through to provide a better recommendation.

What do I need to do to prepare for my fogging service?

Because our disinfectant is non-toxic, there is no need to put everything away.  However, it is advisable to eliminate as much clutter as possible.  Removing clutter eliminates physical barriers, allowing the product to make contact with organisms on various surfaces. If there is visible debris or dirt, "pre-cleaning" would be necessary on your part.  If necessary, we would be happy to pre-clean for you for an additional cost.  Please be prepared to leave the space during the entire time of the service.

How long does disinfecting fogging take and how much does it cost?  â€‹

This depends on the size of the space.  Most houses and some smaller commercial buildings are generally done in about 1 hour.  Larger commercial spaces or warehouse facilities can take a few hours.  Regarding our prices, we are very transparent.  As a perspective client, we prefer that you know your costs before you call.  Refer to our Transparent Pricing page for prices.  Feel free to ask us how to save $20 on your 1st service and then $40.00 on your 2nd service!

Does your botanical fogging kill the Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

Our botanical disinfectant is a part of the EPA’s List N program (https://www.epa.gov/pesticide-registration/list-n-disinfectants-use-against-sars-cov-2). Not only is our disinfectant EPA approved for use on hard, non-porous surfaces against SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19), it also kills bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold, and deodorizes in one step.  In addition to that, it kills antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as MRSA and Norovirus.

Is using botanical disinfectants more expensive than using 'regular chemicals'?

Yes.  Because the ingredients from botanical disinfectants come from plants, they are more costly to source and process than traditional chemicals.  However, because of the many side effects that come from traditional chemicals, many families and business owners rather spend more to feel safer.  Like them, you too may feel that it is money well spent!

What kind of places can be serviced by your botanical disinfecting fogger service?

Because our solution is a hospital-grade disinfectant that is regulated by the EPA and is also NSF Certified, it can be used in a variety of spaces and locations such as airports, apartment complexes, assisted living facilities, banks, barbershops, clinics, daycare, dental offices, hair salons, hospitals, houses, hotels, movie theatres, nail salons, nursing homes, restaurants, schools, urgent cares, vehicles, workout spaces, and a variety of other locations.  Feel free to contact us to see if we can service your space.
